Just because you have a great voice, doesn’t make you the best arbiter of how to use it. Unless you’re William Shatner. I’ve been on both sides of the recording booth. As much as I love receiving direction when I read (and yes, I’m happy to have someone read it to me the way they want it read), for years I was afraid to ask for a different read if the talent wasn’t nailing it. I didn’t want to offend anyone’s artistic sensibilities. Betcha this director wishes he never opened his mouth. Even though he was right; the first take sounds like it was phoned in from Denny Crane’s balcony.  Listen as the poor bastard brings down the wrath of Shat.
